Join Me on a Journey with John

Have you ever found it hard to read the Bible?  Maybe you’ve never read it much at all.  Maybe you’ve read it so much it all seems too familiar.  You find yourself skimming the words, not taking in the meaning, just trying to get it done.

That’s exactly where I was about six months ago.  My eyes took in the words on the page, but my heart didn’t.  I needed something to jolt my Bible reading and cause me to pay attention.

Then I heard a radio story about President John Adams being on Twitter.  My mind started to spin with the possibilities of other historical people that could be tweeting.  It wasn’t long before I thought of John.  He was one of Jesus’ disciples, and one of the closest to Jesus.  John was perfect.

I began to read the stories with the thought of translating them into tweets.  The words came to life.  These are real people, real miracles, real Jesus; not just stories in a book.  Through the process of writing the tweets for @john1Jesusloves, I have seen more of Jesus than ever before.

Come along with me and John, as we follow Jesus.  I pray that the journey will prepare your heart for Easter – for Jesus – in a way you’ve not experienced before.
